Undergraduate Internship - Career Connected Learning

The Systems Education Experiences (SEE) program at ISB has a unique opportunity for an undergraduate in the Puget Sound area to create a suite of career awareness and exploration resources that link to the SEE curriculum modules, and expose high school students to a diverse and wide range of STEM professionals and career pathways. These resources include:

  • Video and digital profiles (10-12 total) of diverse local STEM professionals

  • Virtual tours of STEM workplaces

  • Online and print resources, such as visual infographics/cards


These resources will be shared broadly throughout the 2019/2020 school year and beyond via dissemination through the SEE website, district/classroom engagements, and our leveraged work with partners.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience interviewing professionals

  • Have experience creating and editing videos

  • Have an interest in STEM and education

  • Have experience working independently and as part of a team


To support this project, the student intern will:

  • Have access to and training on our in-house audio visual equipment

  • Be paired with a mentor

  • Be provided with transportation or transportation reimbursement to and from interview sites (a personal car is not required)

  • Be paid $17 per hour


Requirements:

  • Must be able to work 10 hours per week, beginning the week of January 7th, 2019 - specific days and times to be discussed with mentor

  • Must be authorized to work in the US

  • Must be a current undergraduate student or planning to attend college or university in 2019

  • Must complete an online packet (through the ISB Careers page), including:

    • Cover letter describing why you are interested in this position and special skills you will bring to the project

    • Resume or CV including links to video projects you have completed

  • Unofficial college transcripts
